•Nwafor (in hat) and his supporters being received by Nwoga in Amafor Ugbawka...yesterday.
A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Enugu State, Anthony Nwafor, has defected
to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Also, party executives in Nkanu East and West councils and their supporters, joined the fray.
Nwafor said: “I am happy today that I am joining the APC. I chose to join the APC for several reasons; the least being that our people decided to join APC. This is a game of people; if your people say they want you to go here, it is best to go with your people.
“But aside that, the most important reason for joining the APC is because of the wind of change blowing. I seem to have fallen for most of their tenets and aspirations, as well as their aims and objectives; I love it.
“I love the fight against corruption; that alone drew me to admire the party because it is in tandem with my stance, having been a member of the anti-corruption fight in Nigeria.”
On hand to receive Nwafor and his supporters were the state Chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye, and the Southeast Chairman, Chief Anike Nwoga.
Nwoye assured them that there was no discrimination between old and new members, noting that every member has equal rights and privileges.
He advised them to feel at ease with the leadership and feel free to seek advise whenever necessary.
Nwoga admonished the new members to believe that the APC would take over Enugu State in 2019.
He told them to spread the message that the APC has arrived.
“We want you to win votes for the party and not just become a member. We look unto you to deliver your constituencies in the coming local government elections,” Nwoga said.
