At least 7 persons were killed and two others injured on Saturday when a truck collided with a van along Bauchi-Jos road, the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, said.
The spokesperson of the Bauchi Zonal Command of the FRSC, Daniel Sayi, said in a statement issued to journalists on Sunday that the accident occurred when a Dangote truck with Registration number TYW 24 XA collided with a Peugeot J5 van with registration number ALK 165 XA at Dungal village.
“A rescue operation was carried out by FRSC personnel who visited the accident scene and evacuate the victims including the dead and injured persons to the hospital immediately,” he said.
He said the corpses of the 7 victims have been deposited in the mortuary at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital while the two injured are receiving treatment.
