The Oluwo of Iwo and the much ado about idolatry
The big fight that religion is fighting today is the one against idolatry. They preach and teach that God does not want idolatry but if we go around the world, the traditional spiritualities all believe in a supreme deity, lesser deities, ancestors and nature worship. They reverence all. Which one should now be suppressed?.God is just like a parent and if a parent can not possibly command a kid to respect only them then God can not possibly say worship only me. It is straightforward common sense.
It is high time the haranguing of Idolators came to an end across the world. It is being used to cause problems all over. We know with our common sense what God is against and that is evil doing. It is the main thing that people should be allowed to condemn as ungodly in public in the society.
The Oluwo of Iwo has taken it upon himself to be saying orisa worship is wrong and that his fellow Obas in Yoruba land should stop involving themselves in it. Orisas are our ancestors that moved the society forward, they are our ancestors that were outstanding. How can we forget them?. The Oluwo said only Olodumare should be worshipped but there is nothing wrong in reverencing a great ancestor. God is not against such. The Oluwo of Iwo should refrain from condemning orisa worship. He should worship only Olodumare if that is what he desires but he should let people be who want to reverence orisas and other entities. You can't be condemning people as immoral that are law abiding because that would be subtle terrorism.
